Moms, if you blog, you should be monetizing your site somehow.

I know, some women prefer no ads of any kind on their blog. They think it takes away from the inegrity of the blog. I, on the other hand, think if you are investing your time into something, you should be compensated.

The blog should be able to cover monthly hosting fees at minimal. This way your hobby isn’t costing you any out of pocket expenses.

Here are five ways to make money with you mom blog:

1.) Affiliate Programs – You can join a network that hosts many different kinds of offers. This way you can choose banners of a number of products and paste the code into your side bar. When someone clicks on your banner and completes a sale, you are compensated for that transaction. The sale or lead is tracked in the network stats and you are paid out on a monthly basis.

2.) Adsense – You can sign up for adsense account from the front page of Google under advertising. Simply create a campaign and paste the code into your blog. When someone clicks on your link, you get paid. This is a cost per click method. Chances are you won’t make a ton from this, but every little bit helps.

3.) Selling your own product – Perhaps you like to take picutres, make crafts or other products you can sell. Sign up for an Etsy account or create paypal shopping cart links to put on a page in your blog and sell items directly from your site.

4.) Guest Writing – Yes, other blogs pay people to write for them. You can check out blogging opportunites at jobs.problogger.net.

5.) CPM ads – This means cost per thousand impressions. Ad networks like Buzz Logic, Blogher, Adify and Food Buzz all offer programs that pay per impression. This means that for every unique visitor you get to your blog, you get paid for that. So if you have 1,000 visitors a week, you will get paid for those people based on a certain amount. Most likely under $2.00.
